JULY ROCKSTAR - LINDSEY

"

When I came to Revolution for a consultation, Steph asked me what my “why” is for wanting to work out. I honestly didn’t know the answer. Obviously, I wanted to lose weight, but I was really joining a gym to please my doctors and dietician. I just wanted to make it through 6 months of a gym membership. I remember showing up for my first work out and looking at the warm up on the board thinking “There is no way I can do all of this, let alone the actual list of exercises written in my notebook.” Those first few weeks I would dread my gym days. I would think about all of the exercises I was unable to do. I would leave the gym feeling exhausted and defeated because I struggled. I never imagined my mindset changing as much as it has.

After just four months, I am genuinely excited when I have a workout scheduled, and I look forward to them all week. Instead of looking at a new list of exercises and thinking “there is no way I can do this,” I think of the progress I am going to make by the end of the month. When I am struggling to finish something, I think of how much easier it will get if I push through it. I leave the gym feeling strong and proud of myself for completing a work out that I wouldn’t have even attempted a few months ago. Instead of focusing on the number on the scale or the inches I measure, I can focus on how my body feels. I love thinking about how much stronger, mentally and physically, I’ve become in a few, short months. Even more so, I love thinking about how much room I have for growth and all the things my body will be able to do if I continue to push myself."
