Water 💧 It really is a huge deal, and our Revolution Fitness family knows just how important it is for keeping a healthy mind (literally) and body!
To understand why water is so important, let's dive into some science.
Did you know that our body is made up of 37.2 TRILLION cells? Yes...trillion! These tiny particles in our body require enough water in order to get their necessary nutrients. Without it, our bodily cells would shrink and shrivel.... yikes...essentially interefering with our bodily systems! Without water, our body would have difficulty getting rid of waste, protecting joints and organs, and maintaining body temperature. These are definite major roles that simple H²O plays in our bodies, if you ask us!
Have you ever felt that pounding headache when you've forgotten to drink your water? Well, that's your body's way, the brain specifically, of signaling dehydration, and even the slightest bout of dehydration can cause a headache.
Now, how about water and it's benefits in terms of athletic performance? If you're not hydrated, your body can't perform at its highest level, and it's going to go through several not-so-pleasant side effects: You may feel tired, the muscle cramps may come about, and that awful companion, dizziness.
All in all, drink the water! Based on your activity level, the amount of water needed will vary, but Head Coah/Owner Steph, always recommends our members drink at least 1 gall
on of water per day.
Find a reusable water jug that best fits your personality so you'll be more inclined to carry it around with you. There are so many companies that offer designed jugs!
If you need a little extra in your to help with taste, try infusing with fruit and citrus. A perfect combination can be cucumber and lime slices added in!
So, what are you going to do to help you achieve your daily water intake?
